Jonathan Martínez is the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) at Garnica, reporting directly to the CEO, Álvaro González. He is a member of the SteerCo and has been part of the Garnica team since 2021.

With over 20 years of experience in Human Resources, Jonathan has developed his career across various industrial sectors—including packaging, automotive, and the paper industry—managing teams and high-demand operational environments. His career has been marked by leading HR departments in large plants, as well as participating in international projects and industrial growth processes.

In 2012, he moved to Manchester, UK, to contribute to the commissioning of a new paper machine in Partington, a key experience that strengthened his global and operational business perspective. A year later, in 2013, he was appointed HR Manager of a packaging plant in Valencia and later extended his responsibility to the Catalonia–Levante area, overseeing two packaging plants.

In 2015, he assumed the role of HR Manager for the Northern Region of the Recycling division, consolidating his experience in multi-site industrial environments.

In 2017, he moved to the automotive sector, holding several senior HR positions in production plants with over 300 employees, reaching in 2021 the HR Director role for a plant with more than 700 employees.

As CHRO at Garnica, Jonathan drives the alignment of talent with the company’s overall strategy, supporting sustainable growth and strengthening corporate culture. His focus is on operational excellence in people management, team professional development, continuous improvement of the work environment, and supporting the business in its transformation processes.

Jonathan holds a Law degree and a Master’s in Human Resources and Occupational Risk Prevention, specialising in Safety, Hygiene, Ergonomics, and Psychosociology. Additionally, in 2016 he earned an Executive MBA from ESIC Business & Marketing School in Zaragoza.
