  • Jonathan Martínez is the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) at Garnica, reporting directly to CEO Álvaro González. He is a member of the SteerCo and has been part of Garnica’s leadership team since 2021.

    With more than 20 years of HR experience, Jonathan has built his career across multiple industrial sectors—including packaging, automotive, and the paper industry—leading teams and managing high-demand operational environments. His career highlights include heading HR departments in large plants and participating in international projects and industrial growth initiatives.

    In 2012, he relocated to Manchester, UK, to support the commissioning of a new paper machine in Partington, a pivotal experience that strengthened his global business perspective.

    In 2013, he was appointed HR Manager of a packaging plant in Valencia and later extended his responsibilities to the Catalonia–Levante area, overseeing two packaging plants. In 2015, he became HR Manager for the Northern Region of the Recycling division, gaining extensive experience in multi-site industrial environments.

    In 2017, he moved to the automotive sector, holding senior HR positions in production plants with over 300 employees, reaching in 2021 the role of HR Director for a plant with more than 700 employees.

    As CHRO at Garnica, Jonathan focuses on aligning talent with the company’s strategy, supporting sustainable growth, and strengthening corporate culture. His priorities include operational excellence in people management, professional development of teams, continuous improvement of the workplace, and supporting the business in transformation initiatives.

    Jonathan holds a Law degree and a Master’s in Human Resources and Occupational Risk Prevention, specialising in Safety, Hygiene, Ergonomics, and Psychosociology. In 2016, he also completed an Executive MBA at ESIC Business & Marketing School in Zaragoza.
