Garnica celebrates its 75th anniversary in Logroño

Garnica has celebrated 75 years since the company was founded. The event was attended by customers, suppliers and friends from over 30 countries to which the company’s products are sent.

Garnica, the European leader in poplar plywood, has celebrated the 75th anniversary of the creation of the company. The company was founded in 1940 in Baños de Río Tobía (La Rioja) by the Garnica family, which still today has a significant shareholding presence.

The company has brought together 35 of its main clients in Logroño from France, Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom, Portugal and other countries, in addition to Spain. Garnica exports 90% of its production and has 5 factories, three of them in La Rioja, another in Valencia de Don Juan (León) and another in Samazan, in the Aquitaine region (France).

The commemorative events have included a tour of Laurel Street, in which its visitors have had the opportunity to get to know the neighborhood and taste up to 16 of its unique tapas; a working day at the Hotel Marqués de Riscal, with a visit to its wineries; and a gala dinner at the Círculo Logroñés.

Garnica is the leading European producer of poplar plywood with more than 220,000 m3 of boards per year, revenues of more than € 140 million and more than 600 customers in 36 countries around the world. The company expects to invest € 50 million until 2019 and create 400 new jobs in the next four years.
