FSC Module: design, innovation and sustainability in action
Read the featured articleFSC Spain presented a transportable and sustainable exhibition module at REBUILD, built with FSC-certified Laudio Pine boards from Garnica. This project combines modular design, strength and aesthetics, demonstrating how high-quality materials contribute to creating responsible and visually striking spaces.
Industry context
In a sector increasingly focused on sustainability and industrial efficiency, the construction and design of exhibition spaces seek innovative solutions that convey responsible and attractive values. Trade fairs such as REBUILD have become key platforms for showcasing how certified wood and modular construction can communicate not only services and products, but also principles of conscious design, quality and respect for the environment.
FSC Spain identified the need for an exhibition space that was transportable, reusable and capable of tangibly reflecting the importance of responsible forest management and the benefits of building with wood.
Project implementation
The project was developed as an industrialised module, prefabricated entirely in a warehouse by Modus Habitare. This allowed for maximum control over each phase of production and ensured high-quality finishes, something difficult to achieve with traditional stands assembled on site. The modular structure, based on pine wood frames, was configured so that it could be adapted to different spaces, maintaining the visual and functional integrity of the module during transport between trade fairs.
The collaboration with Garnica was key, guaranteeing FSC-certified materials and boards with the strength and aesthetics necessary to create a solid, lightweight and visually homogeneous module.
Product and application
To stiffen the frames and create visual continuity in the facades and roof, Garnica's Laudio Pine II/III EN 636-3 boards were used, which are 12 mm thick, 5-layer and 2500 × 1250 mm in size, with FSC Mix 70% certification. The panels were placed with the most aesthetic side facing the interior of the module, creating a warm and harmonious space that stands out with the stand's lighting. Thanks to their excellent strength-to-weight ratio, the boards facilitated both the structural stability and transportability of the module, allowing it to be reused at different trade fairs without compromising its integrity or appearance.
The assembly was carried out entirely in the warehouse, using mechanical fasteners that did not damage the surface or the laminate, ensuring precise and durable finishes.
Results
The exhibition module combines functionality, aesthetics and certified sustainability. Garnica boards provide strength and visual uniformity, reinforcing the perception of quality of the space and the FSC message. The module is used to present services, host conferences and generate positive experiences for visitors, consolidating certified wood as the material of the future in construction and interior design.
Garnica: quality that makes a difference
Garnica's participation in this project demonstrates how the choice of high-quality materials makes a difference in the final result. The boards provide strength, impeccable finishes and a uniform aesthetic, creating spaces that convey sustainability, comfort and attention to detail. This case clearly reflects the value of Garnica panels in responsible construction and design projects.
